Web Specialist — MD

Brief description of job duties

The Center for History of Physics is seeking a Web Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining and improving the History Center Web site while following Web standards and best practices. The site serves scholars with major online catalogs and attracts more than a million visitors a month with its exhibits, but needs modernizing and new ideas. The successful candidate will also develop and implement online publicity plans, produce the semi-annual printed newsletter, and advise on other computer and Web related matters.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience is desired. Experience in Web design is needed as well as familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite; a thorough knowledge of HTML & CSS is required. Experience with desktop publication (InDesign or comparable software) is desired. The ideal candidate will be amp;a self-starter, have good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of email marketing and search optimization is a plus.
